An ultrasound, usually with a blood test, to check early growth.
Why It Matters (Clinical Guidance)
- It can only be done in this window. After week 14 it is too late.
- It screens for some chromosome conditions, such as Down syndrome.
- A screening test gives a chance, not a diagnosis. Your doctor explains the result.
Two Approved Approaches
Option A: Government hospital
Not every hospital offers it. Ask your ASHA or doctor where it is done near you.
Option B: Private scan centre
Ask for an NT scan with double marker.
